We've got to be positive about this whatever. Privatisation I think was a depressing, inevitable consequence even here, as no governement's got the clout or interest really to carry a nation through public investment coz they get bored with the responsibility and long returns and we end up shafted one way or another anyway. Otherwise, we'd be tempted to believe politicians are in it for the common good. Hmm. I'm aware of old crowface Thatch and can't wait for the celebrations when she dies, but perhaps in this case anything that breaks from such tyrannical autonomy has to be welcomed. I don't think we've got a right to prescribe anything as far as other nations go (ahem!) when the alternatives are so dreadful. But the guy needs help! Our more responsible newspapers champion his fight, but that ain't enough.
