The sadest moment in this country was when he was in a UK hospital in 98 and we refused to honour a spanish extradiction treaty to have him deported. Instead we let the twat fly home under the excuse he was on his last legs... That move for me completely exposes the paradox of Blair's foreign policy:- he helps US invade iraq to dethrow bloodthirsty Sadam and yet when we have a murdering bastard like Pinochet in our midst we let him go. I have a friend from chile whose family were associated with the previous Salvador Allende govt and they were expelled to live abroad for the rest of their lives - they got lucky - Apparently some of Pinochet's victims were put in a airplane and simply thrown out into the sky over the sea
