Good points! I also think it has a lot to do with psychology. The present Israeli, Hamas, Hezbollah & PLO leaders have lived all their lives with this conflict. It's the basis of their positions of power, of how they understand the world; it's their raison d' etre. I'm sure for many of these people the possibility of peace is seen as a personal threat.
