Try not to forget that almost half aren't mad and are trying to hang onto their marbles.
Someone at work mentioned that America is more divided now than it was during the civil war.

Remember we had many years of Thatcher, more than we deserved, and we survived, didn't we?

'We' might have done. Many didn't.

'Survived' is the right word, too ... by the skin of our teeth. How many such people can we survive?

Get sorry over your asses

Dog3000, I started this comment thread and (maybe but not likely) set the tone by saying how *I* feel about today's World Superpower becoming increasingly partisan and rabid.

I considered what you said, and I got over it right quick. Which leads me to state rather more calmly:

"Eat his jiz, bee-hotches!"

And you know what I think about Kerry/Moore, I only hope the Democratic voters can find it in themselves to see how they allowed this to happen once they get the tatste of Moore-jiz out of the back of their throats.

That's quite enough.

"It's Bush. Thank God, it's Bush.

There is so much to do. Not in Iran, or Iraq, or even in Washington.

We have four years to remake our society; four years to reclaim our media, our entertainment industry, our universities and our children.

Most importantly, we have four years to regain some control over who guards information."

I would not give the steam from my piss to such a notion as remaking a society in four years to my own plan. Whittle is an aging Republican and has many disciples, yet the best he can do is use Nationalism and fear of God to rally support for making over America in his own image. Now that doesn't sound very Bush does it?

Party politics stinks and always did. There is something so WRONG with this picture that I can't even verbalise it. It sends a deep sick shudder through me.

The political spectrum is arguably a circle with extremists reaching common ground of fear and bullshit. Right now I see the bottom of that circle a mess of Neo-Cons, ultra-conservative Islamic fundies and ultra-reactionary Michael Moores.

I have reason to believe that millions of America's think Kerry is a rabid socialist. If I think he's a Conservative, does that mean I'm a brass button on Chairman Mao's jacket?

Losing the 1992 General Election was the best thing that could have happened to the British Labour Party. It was followed by Black Wednesday and the destruction of any claim the Tory Party had to economic competence, then five stagnant years which produced little but the Cones Hotline. And even that was a failure.

The result? Two Labour landslides (so far), and the Tories a long-running joke for at least a generation.

Do you think the Dems may have borne this in mind when picking a candidate who couldn't even beat the chimp that is the incumbent?

"You need a very potent weapon to unseat an incumbent"

Weren't Bush's biggest weapons:

1. God
2 9/11, then
3. Michael Moore
