PEGGY SUICIDE (PART 2)
Jan 10, 2004, 15:07
star trek is the ultimate fantasy, based on false assumptions about the human race (as it stands right now, unready and immature): put a few hundred in a spaceship for a few months or years and see how they end up killing each other after a while - for proof, see any episode of big brother or any other social experiments...

and since someone's mentioned columbus, see what he unleashed, the europeans got there, and after 'a bit of' ethnic cleansing created their own vision of Western Civilization (presumably what bush and his god-sent nation (bless'em) will have in mind once they arrive in their new 'paradise'...),

(columbus was also lucky enough to just about stumble into land before his starving sweaty men threw the bugger off board... which proves my earlier point about the impossibility of a human-led Global Exodus that lasts more than necessary and that leads to the Unknown)

moving into space is a fallacy, at least for another thousand years. humans are not yet ready for that, they have fucked up their home, anywhere they move it will sooner or later become another case of self-induced global suicide

better to take care of what remains here before it's too late, because ... at the current speed of things, there won't even be time (or fuel for that matter) to get the rockets ready for an emergency exit.

and anyway, if there was ever that need or the possibility, like the anti-nuclear bunkers built in the 50s, they will be only reserved for the fuckers, like the best table in a restaurant...

at the current rate of extinction (15%-35% of all animal and plant species before long) it will affect us directly sooner or later - so any talk of 'space will see our way out of this mess' is plain rubbish.

the vast costs that are being squandered just to find out that Mars, too, once suffered from global warming and died (how clever is that!!) should be put into tackling responsible development of our own resources and not on the military (or its sister industry, 'space')
