Frankly I don't think hate in itself is a good thing. But I think there are good reasons why people hate... I ain't talking about this irrational racial-supremacy, for example. I hate my president because his policies have caused me to be unemployed for example. That's reasonable. Bush's hatred for anyone left-of-center, non-christian or gay is unjustified.

Sure is, as many ways as there are of us.

Just doesn't interest me to hate anyone, not saying I don't but that'd be personal not politcal. I'd say there are lots of good criticisms in what you've been saying just haven't noticed suggestions for how to solve the situation we are actually in now. Which is a fucking huge question and no one person can solve anyway, all we can do (IMO) is take responsibility for ourselves, be aware of all the shit and hypocrisy and try to do our best.

And yes get angry with the bastards who pollute the media with either vile (as may be in this original case) or shallow useless pap as most of it's one or the other

I'm just hateful because when I try to speak out against injustice no one listens, or else I get laughed at or insulted.

Not here though, mind you it's preaching to the converted here isn't it

If people don't listen to you the way you present your position, do you present it differently so they might change or do you stick with something you know doesn't work?

Those that insult you or laugh at you might find themselves saying "but we did all of this in your name!" to god and god turning round and saying "i don't think i know you, sod off". either way it's not all your responsibility is it, if they are too blind or stupid then fuck em. just carry on doing your best and be happy with yourself for at least trying

I've pretty much stopped trying to communicate with close-minded and bigoted people essentially. I tried stating my case about how Ann Coulter's book Treason (which praised Joseph McCarthy) was wrong on Slate.com but I gave up.

It was, er Ronald Reagan!!

No it was John O' Donahue, I read things that people say and get a kind of reflex-quote-zap that 3 times out of 10 relate to Anam Cara. He is so right on in so many ways, not perfect, but in touch with a side of human nature that gets buried in verbiage these days. Mel Gibson, pah.
