22nd & 23rd are on a weekend so hopefully makes it easier to get out. I'm hopefully heading to http://www.themodernantiquarian.com/site/7929/glastrigan.html. I think it may be aligned to winter solstice sunset.

If anyone has any other suggestions for around the north munster area I'd love to give it a go.

Looks interesting , can't see it on GE but on Flash earth it looks to be aligned something like 210 /30 degrees in which case it might be closer to a standstill to the SW than the solstcie .

Hi Tiompan,

Here it is on Bing if that is any use to you - I figured that perhaps a hill or two where the sunsets might make a difference as to its actual setting point in this particular area.

Thanks Bawn , that's the same clear image as on Flash Earth , your pics don't suggest anything extreme on the horizon , it's just getting an accurate orientation of the row . If it is 210 to the SW I would expect the solstice to be closer to something like 228 . If you do go and get a clear view and it's not solstitial could you get a compass direction for the row and a pic of the horizon it is oriented to please ?
