I hate champagne and the NT, i'd happily walk alone with a bottle of cava though.

You get cake and cold cava half way a long the walk as well Goff ;)

Stones, cake and fizzy wine... What's not to like? :)

Actually sounds really good for a fiver, and probably especially beneficial for those that don't know the area very well. I'm curious to know where the walk covers! :)

Went on the walk this afternoon and there was indeed cava and four different varieties of cake served from the back of a NT landrover along the way (tea for those who didn't want alcohol).

Led by Ros Cleal and Matilda Webb, the curator and assistant curator of the the Alexander Keiller Museum - the weather was warm and breezy, it was a perfect afternoon out. I also learnt quite a bit more about the Avebury landscape.

Glad you enjoyed the walk with Ros and Matilda.
Unfortunatley Sammy was ill so I had to stay at home with her all day.

Tony, the cava and cake was very pleasurable. A small group of enthusiastic people having a spontaneous picnic on the track up to Overton Down.

Pete, I mentioned your name to Ros and she appeared to be a big fan of you and young Sammy. She spoke about you both with fondness.
Although you probably know most of what was covered already, Ros Cleal's genuine love of Avebury shone through which made everything that much more vivid ... and that was before the cava.

Hello

What a shame this isn't next week! My family and I are going to be in the area from next Friday for a couple of weeks. This would have been an ideal starting point for us! I have been to Avebury before, but my family haven't.

I hope there will be other events such as this.

I've been reading up on the Avebury - A Present From The Past website then I came across this one. What a wonderful resource!
