I did a walk around Avebury with Ros yesterday.
Usual stuff but as always I did pick up a few usefull bits of info.
The highlight was going into the Barn and handling Ros' bits.

arrowheads etc...

it was free,
I wouldn't pay for a NT tour because of their new T&C's and the copyright grab that is undeway by the NT in general.

You get cake and cold cava* half way a long the walk as well Goff ;)

And, there is also another interesting event at Cranbourne;

Archaeological Sites and Landscape of Cranbourne Chase at Down Farm (Martin Green) Sixpenny Handley..
A programme of guided walks through the archaeological sites and landscape of Cranborne, together with exhibitions, displays and activities based at Down farm
Unfortunately its on Saturday 1st August between 10.00- 17.00 (the day of the Avebury Megameet)..

*cava - had to look that one up, its sparkly wine.......
