Bloody hell Peter - I'd missed your post before - great stuff!!!
The para about the swastika is a much better expression of exactly what I (& others) tried to explain to Mr Croley (when he first appeared here) as our view on why his use of the swastika was a bad idea.
He didn't seem actually interested in our views of course....

Well, as I said, according to its genes, the pygmy shrew in Ireland probably didn't arrive from England/Scotland/Wales; it came from S W Europe.

There's a slug, the Kerry slug, which isn't found in England but does live in Northern Spain. It's one of a few types of flora & fauna found in Ireland known as the 'Lusitanian' species. Some of these do occur in Cornwall or Devon - but nowhere else in England.
