Re: Another naive question

Well I came across a funny but sad symbol today, it was on one of the Lansdown's Civil War battlefields. They have recently erected a stone carved with an image of a man joined at the waist by another upside man, and a little dog dancing above with a whip in his hand. Its a 17th c image, and the wording underneath reads "World turned upside Down from a 17th image - Lansdown 1643." 300 years later our world is, according to "the media" turned upside down by religion and war, but was it ever so, our peaceful megalithic stones would probably have told a similar story. The Battle of the Lansdown date is July 5th 1643, followed by the Battle of Roundway Down (near to Avebury) July 13th..

Further to the Nazis hijacking history, there was an article a few months ago, I think in Fortean Times, describing their vain attempts to "prove" that a mesolithic/neolithic presence in the region of present Germany had inspired the development of such civilisations as ancient Greece etc and that's its presence survived in the Master Race. Sheer arrogance, but it's amazing what influence can be wielded once political power is achieved.

They were quite mad of course. Famously they sent an expedition to Tibet to prove that the master Race originated in Atlantis and that their descendants were Aryans and therefore German. They measured skulls of living Tibetans and other physical features and concocted some kind of nonsense while despising the living Tibetans as "degenerates". Quite how they got from an Atlantic Atlantis to Tibet and back to northern Europe, I don't recall. Their Aryans seem to have been the original "blue-eyed boys" whereas the reality was that the Aryans were Indo-European Sanskrit speaking people moving into northern India.

I think I'm right in saying that one of their nuttier ideas was the existence of a network of underground tunnels between continents which had something to do with the idea of an inhabited hollow earth. I saw a book in the library once by one of the more way out writers which gave a name to these tunnels, dammed if I can remember it though. Of course, such claims can be apocryphal.

>In his (Tolkien) time, it made any expressed interest in runes and Nordic cultures suspect... So much nonsense abounds and all we can do is strive for the truth and nail the lies and nonsense wherever we find it.<

Excellent post Peter, and a quote from George Santayana might be kept in mind by nonsense-mongers everywhere -

"Fanaticism consists in redoubling your effort when you have forgotten your aim."

Ah, you're so full of love! An example to us all, I'm sure.

Nope, I too am talking about the vibrational energy of love - which I'm sure you're aware is a soothing, calming frequency. I very much doubt anyone in tune with the love vibration would be expressing such sentiments as "fuck you".

More difficult for you than for me, it seems. I'm not at all wound up. I find you pleasant and entertaining. You're the one Hang around for as long as you want for all I care. You give me a few giggles every day!

On the other hand, your language and attitude is deteriorating with every post. So who's wound up, eh? You or me?

And to which negativity do you refer? My advice that you attune yourself with the cosmic vibrational frequency of love? You respond to that with abusive language and then delude yourself into believing that I'm the one being negative? You don't seem to understand the paradigm within which you claim to operate.

Whoops. Typo.

"You're the one Hang around for as long as you want for all I care"

should oviously have read....

"You're welcome to hang around for as long as you want for all I care"

PS. I love you, Mike.
