Bloody hell. Saw them a year or two back. Cute, but awful. Thankfully, their label boss and synth pop perv god - MOMUS - was the support. He was amazing.

...on the cd i've got is sticker telling me that they were the support for The Strokes, that must have gone down badly with most of the audience. ...a bit like when i saw Add N to (X) supporting Supergrass i expect.

Do I sense a new thread..... ...maybe, if I can think of an example.

...my worst nightmare is when i am only attending to see the support band, an example of this was Cardiacs supporting It Bites at a Uni gig with the Rugby lads in attendance during the week that the Sunday Sport outed two of the Cardiacs as having an incestuous relationship (they were infact man and wife) and the rugby lad's just kept on and on and on....etc about it all thru the set. Cardiacs again, this time supporting Marillion, Fish came on at the end of their set to berate the audience for being so badly behaved. Same venue (cardiff uni) this time The Wonderstuff supporting Zodiac Mindwarp and the Love Reaction, a few years later i read an interview with Miles Hunt where he stated that it was one of the worse audience reactions they'd had (very metal crowd). ...talking of very metal: Head supporting Bad News, best moment was when the singer of Head told the audience something along the lines of "...i've got a new car outside and you fuckers have paid for it".

Surely, you've got the Wonderstuff and Zodiac the wrong way around? I've seen Deacon Blue three times because I wanted to see the support bands. Sometimes it's just not worth it.

err.... surely you could leave after the support band - me thinks thou doest protest too much! Respect to elderford for his Cardiacs attendances - the Marillion gig still gets mentioned by everyone on the Cardiacs mailing list - must have been funny!

Metamatic was like an intelligent Gary Numan.

Unfortunately they left 'I Before E Except After C' off the CD version, just because it was too weeeeird. Bastards!
