To be honest, Pete often renders his covers in such a way that they sound more 'Sonic Boom' than some of his originals.
I did the same thing with True Love Will Find You In The End. Had no idea it was a cover, because it just sounded like the rest of the Spectrum stuff.
That said, I just presumed Anyway That You Want Me was a Jason Pierce original too - for exactly the same reasons ha ha

Edit - none of the above meant disingenuously. I think it's a good thing when artists make cover versions their own so to speak.
