That was Daminxa. I want in on that research fund. Suprised KC isn't sniffing around too ;-)

I'm off to the library shortly as well. I love a prolonged rummage, me.

Haha! If I had any hair left I'd be tempted to go for that too!

In Search of the Lost Chord is their best album for me. House of Four Doors and the spooky Legend of A Mind with the 'Timothy Leary's dead' refrain. What was that all about? After that they do get increasingly middle of the road, but all that run up to and including Seventh Sojourn can be enjoyed muchly in the right frame of mind. Actually I think much of the acid effect is embracing the uncoolness- that point where cool and uncool meet in the great cosmic circle and profound genius is the same thing as a ridiculous joke which is like the meaning of the universe man... maybe the Moodies knew...

I seem to remember reading somewhere that once they started on the acid, they were on a mission to spread the word through their music, in a very serious and applied fashion. I think it is this focused attention to the trip which comes vibing through.

You see, I didn't realise that they really were Hard Core acid heads. I thought it was Laura Ashley posing. A new respect is born.

you got the 1968 Colour Me Pop set? 1/2 hr live tv thing, part of a pretty good series that covered loads of other great bands from the time.
I got it from one of the torrent sites, not sure which. May still be up

&there have been a number of live audio sets upped to Dime over the last few years.

thatr's from the Colour Me Pop show so there's another 25 odd minutes of similar fare available.

One clip from Colour Me Pop that's (literally) long lost and one I would've loved to have seen, is Giles Giles & Fripp doing "Digging My Lawn" ;-)

Good advice regarding vinyl. Apparently the current CD of 'In Search Of The Lost Chord' is shoddily mastered, although I haven't heard it to verify this. Best bet is to pick up an original LP in its glorious gatefold sleeve for £2.

Never a huge fan, I always found them a bit 'up-tight' somehow. Love the 'Poor Man's Moody Blues' though. Barclay James Harvest are well worth a try.

They've been mentioned in a few threads. Live Tapes, Live 1974, Everyone Is Everybody Else and Octoberon are all good places to start.
