It's got the strangest intro to any album on earth, and 'Ladytron'...it just sounds like it's from another planet it. x

That really was an incredible feeling, hearing that track for the first time-
That opening bit.....oboe, synth and mellotron....in a shower of glitter!

Great album. Try Automatic Writing by Robert Ashley too. Great stuff.

Nice album but the reactions I get when I play something like this are not the annoyed, "WTF!? Can we listen to something else?" but rather, "How is this MUSIC?" But maybe that does count as weird...

...is your handle a reference to the DMT phenomenon? I was just reading about that the other day.

mine would be lula cortez e ze remalho's PAEBIRU from 1975 (surely the most apposite musical represenation of the inside of Alejadro Jodorowsky's mind there has been to date) - and incidentally rumored to be the rarest South American acid-psych-prog-free-jazz-folk LP there is (due to a warehouse fire burning most of the original vinyl pressings) - Absolutely Ace and wierd to boot.

(Available on Shadoks Musik CD 043)

closely followed by White Noise's - Electric Storm in Hell?

of course there are loads I haven't enjoyed but deserve a tip of the hat for wierdness

Penderecki's Threnody for the Victims of Hiroshima (1960) - Brave, but when was the last time any of us cranked it up for a full listen through, exactly!!
ditto Amon Duul's Minnelied

Agoraphobic Nosebleed -
Altered States Of America.

Well it was weird the first time I heard it, and I love it. 99 tracks (100 if you reverse the CD from track one) in 20 mins. Ferociously mad digital grindcore, but compellingly listenable. If you have a lot to do and only 20 minutes to do it in... this will help.

Try Wikipedia. Apparently, "machine elves" are things often seen by people on DMT trips.
