Let's be quiet now, Lucan, and instead have a whinge about the dastardly Countryside Alliance protest in Brighton. <grumble> Arrogant toffs! </grumble> J x

Yeah. That strikes me as a far more serious issue than the one of talking at gigs, tbh (although I wasn't there, so I don't feel it wouild be right for me to comment any further on that particular debate). Let's unite against a common enemy - THE FLUFFY BISCUIT BOARD!!!* (*Joke - which anyone who's ever seen "Monty Python's Life Of Brian" will get immediately).

No. The problem is people talking. Stoke was ok apart from that one dick, but the Astoria gig a few yrs ago was ruined in this respect for me, so I know where these people are coming from with their complaints. An no, it wasn't Julian's fault that night either. There was nothing wrong with his performance, it's just that some people don't want to listen.

>I still defend the right of people to talk to each > other at gigs. I tell you what. Why don't you lot just get on the stage, take the mic off Julian, tell him to f--- off and share your conversations with the rest of us. It's obviously more interesting than listening to the man himself.

>No. The problem is people talking< I thought the venue was a bit echoey, and think this might have contributed. The talking didn't sound loud from the front where I was. I wondered if it might have been different in different parts of the hall. And I wasn't saying that the problem was Julian's fault at all. Far from it.
