I've read the Qu'ran too, and to be fair Muhammed did pull a reverse Malcolm X and come back to his first draft and add some fire and brimstone. He'd probably just been dumped that day, and not being able to leave drunken voicemails, he took his anger out on his prophecy instead. Do think this is all much more of a socio-economic thing all the same, but I mostly willingly choose to eschew the ins and outs of modern-day life in favour of dusty old tomes and My Little Pony episodes instead, so wadda I know? Practically anything's better for the ol' noggin than the news.

He's much more of an introverted, stay-at-home sort of d[r]ude at heart. When positing opinions on things like religion and the like, he goes broader and bolder than he really is, 'cause who wants to hear from a soft-spoken rockstar diplomatist? The clues are there all over his career, but I think it says a lot about how, in Japrocksampler, he especially admired the Japanese's penchant for mastering the surface arts- donning the look of a Rock God whilst being meek as a kitten beneath the leathers.

I know he's not a fan of religion per se, yet still seems to follow something 'religious' which has always confused me as to his actual beliefs. Although he's commented on various religions it's Islam that does seem to be more of a preoccupation for his ire. And this is where I don't see him as intelligent in that subject as he only really focuses on what he sees a a negative, focusing on something attributed to a religion and not the religion itself, for example the Burkha which is seen as belonging to Islam but actually is more of a 'custom' and for many women it's seen as a form of 'liberation' (yes I'm fully aware in some places the complete opposite is a reality) than it is anything to do with a religion. http://www.channel4.com/news/niqab-hijab-burqa-muslim-veil-headdress-birmingham
