Actually, from the BBC Food & Farming Awards 2004:
Best Regional or National Retailer
Winner: ASDA, Head Office Leeds.
Awarded to ASDA for the work they have done in promoting British fruit and vegetables. Sir Don Curry said "What is truly impressive is that ASDA is determined to deliver value to its customers and at the same time build strong links in the supply chain. To achieve this they have not been afraid to challenge their own systems." Robert Clark added "In the past year they have made a lot of progress on local sourcing and have significantly extended the opportunities available to British farmers."

thank you! Its not just tescos that are to blame its every high street store that pisses on the poor and strives to make as much money out of us as possible, as for suppliers its partly their fault for signing away their life just for that big contract that can be pulled from under them at a moments notice..... it all comes down to greed ( and that is something everyone suffers from at one point or another!)

Kevin, I'm not saying anything negative, just a question...but isn't saying that business/human/corporate greed (choose as applicable) is 'perhaps aliens' (you do mean extraterrestrial?) could be considered as nonsensical a suggestion as me saying, I don't know..
