Askwith Moor is in Yorkshire, about 6 miles northeast of Ilkley.

I like the idea of the arc at the top representing a sun or moon - which is more what it looks like in this picture.
Because the figure seems unique (?) in Britain, and because it is so like several well known European figures, and that it was only discovered less than 10 years ago - it makes me a bit suspicious of it's authenticity.
