Same thing applies tho - if I can't do what I want to because I didn't ask permission, why should someone else, regardless of their motives?

Plus, if they give the impression of being Neonazis, maybe they need to see their tailor...

Infact the group was a pagan group who worshipped Woden...

One wonders why a group, who worship Woden, were in the Avebury circle in the first place; would they not they have been better off on Waden Hill or the Wansdyke? Then again, perhaps they were looking to impress the tourists, or had had one too many at the Lion and didn't quite know where they were (either in the mythological or geographical sense).

"who said they where NeoNazis? Did you even speak to them?
I was there and I did. Infact the group was a pagan group who worshipped Woden, and where taking part in a blot to Sigurd the Dragon slayer, to coincide with georges day.

you should get your facts right first, before slating what you dont know about.

fool."

A tad harsh if I may say so old boy, over a simple case of mistaken identity (especially as Google shows neo nazis have harnessed Odinism big time so there's plenty of room for possible confusion).

Incidentally, since it wasn't St George's Day and it wasn't Sigurd's Day and Avebury isn't an Odinist temple, its tempting to think they were none too sure themselves about who they were or what they were doing....

abit harst? we called a group of men and women with kids, etc neo nazis.

any way, why should they not use the site? Druids use Stonehenge, yet it wasn't celtic. Its a beautiful site.

every one is free to use the site for religious needs. You dont permission to stand there a pray do you.

You dont permission to stand there a pray do you.

You do to have a formal gathering there, as it happens.

Why does it makes you aggressive? Isn't the point of a belief to bring inner peace to the soul?

Obviously the nazis are already running the country then.

Well, maybe. NT Byelaws are an easy target, especially if applied in a jobsworth fashion. On the other hand, it would have been no trouble to ask for and get permission (maybe they did). And the big thing is, if they HAD been Nazis they wouldn't have got it.

I'm still wondering why they held their ceremony there, which has zero odinist connections, and not at the very nearby locations that have associations with Woden. People who dress up and worship mythical Norse gods are running enough risk of being thought daft without choosing the wrong place and the wrong day.
