I've suggested to Pete that the meeting at Avebury should include another site assessment. However, that is several weeks away, what is to stop more tipping in the meantime? It will be interesting to know what Kennet Council's response will be.

Nigel, You have my permission to post th ephoto yourself. THA keeps reoboting my machine no matter which browser I use at the moment, probably a memory prob in my old clunky machine. Kennett council are looking into the landownership, which is probably David Hues. It does fall within the western tip of the West Kennett conservation area. They will check to see if the Environment agency needs to be contacted. PeteG

Nigel, Thanks for putting the new Silbaby site up. Now I know where the blessed thing is! Can I make a couple of suggestions though. I'd have thought the speech-marks around the site name could be dropped. There are plenty of sites with 'made up' names on TMA without 'em. Also, you wrote, "It's not modern, and apparently artificial, but that's as far as it seems safe to go." I'd have thought... "It's not thought to be modern, and is apparently artificial (but that's as far as it seems safe to go)." ...might be a safer bet. K x

OK, will do that. As you can tell, I was leaning over backwards not to say anything that might be used in evidence! How do I change the site name? Just do it?

There'll be a 'third' one somewhere about.

"There'll be a 'third' one somewhere about." There is! At Marlborough. And all three can be seen from The Sanctuary. (Please disregard both those statements as we're in enough trouble as it is...)

"Kennett council are looking into the landownership, which is probably David Hues. It does fall within the western tip of the West Kennett conservation area. They will check to see if the Environment agency needs to be contacted." Good start Pete - nice one. Let's hope they keep it up! love Moth
