Before you rush to add this to your Christmas lists (along with the calendar) I should mention that this is entirely theoretical. It could be done though. It would be beautifully superficial and subjective! I propose we score on... * Number of stones * Attraction of site to tourist * Attraction of site to New Agers * Condition * Visitors Facilities * Access * Ambience Could Holy make us a virtual Megalithic Top Trumps game in time for Christmas? It would add a touch of class to the site.

Quite stupidly I suggested this to Julian ages ago by email. On the very same day he was out with McGrail and they too were joking about it. Holy came up with the name .... Drum roll ... Top Tumps!!!! Ta-da!!!

As the risk of sounding very stupid, what *is* this game? Can someone explain how it works, please? Is it a boy's thang? It sounds very intriguing... Naive/shelteredupbringing J x

Top trumps is a card game, you each get half the pack, on each card is a thing (like a sports car) and a number of key features (number of cylinders top speed etc.), the one to start picks the top card and shouts out the key features of their choice, the other player looks at their top card and the one who's card has the most of that particular feature wins! then on to the next card until one of you has the entire pack or has been beaten up for cheating.

Sounds great! How'd we play?!?! I can see a whole bunch of impassioned arguments ensuing, however.

Not to mention the "I believe current opinion to be wrong so I'm taking my card home"

Actually, the better version is without the cards - players do their best to show off their total knowledge of all things megalithic by simply pulling the stats out of their head (or bluffing), the only rule - site is not to be mentioned twice in a single round - "the dictionary" - TMA website!
