Hahahaha! Better than getting nuked by a China/Iran/North Korea/Russian coalition – that’s the direction Orange Boy is taking you buddy :-) Or getting fleeced into oblivion by a failed Euro and a failing EU political project. We might sink for a bit (though personally I don’t think we will) but this ‘shit-stained isle’ punches way above its weight in the intentional arena and will punch even higher once the shackles of the EU are shaken off.

As for British politicians; there are few, in any of the parties here, with the diplomatic calibre of Theresa May. I’m not a Conservative supporter but she’ll get my vote this time around; the alternatives are unthinkable. Jeremy Corbyn is living in a socialist cloud cuckoo-land; his policies would bankrupt the country before the end of his first term as prime minister. Diane Abbott as Home Secretary? I think not, the woman can barely string two words together to make a coherent sentence. Paul Nuttall of UKIP would take us down a nationalistic back alley with a brick wall at the end. Or how about Mr Wet Blanket himself, Tim Farron, leader of the LibDems? Cathy Newman on Channel 4 News asked him repeatedly yesterday if he thought homosexuality was a sin. He refused to confirm or deny that it was, saying only that as a Christian he wasn’t prepared to get into a theological debate about it. And as for Nicola Sturgeon (also yesterday) she had the gall to accuse May of putting her party before the country. For feck's sake! That’s what Sturgeon does every day of the fecking week! The hypocrisy of the woman! (forgive the double use of the F word ;-) How about a coalition of all or some of the above? Oh what fun that would be... not...

You’re right about one thing though; what you’re seeing on this thread (and others) is, “Pretty much what Head Heritage has become.” It’s mostly opinion based, lacks careful, let alone critical, analysis of issues, and with a hole in the ‘Facts’ Bucket’ as big as a dinner plate.

Just for the sake of accuracy,
I'm on record here on this site as having not voted for the "orange one".
He is a 4 year transitory figure that we have to deal with....i don't think he truly represents the mandate of the U.S....he was seated by only 20% of the American populace...
Voter apathy.
My most fervent hopes go with the UK, as half my ancestry derives from thence.
I've owned my {Meriden factory} 650cc 1971 Triumph Bonneville motorcycle 30 years now.
I know what the isles were capable of.
Maybe Arthur will awake from his slumbers in Avalon and reunite a worthy round table....
Or maybe it's the "sleeper awakes" as H.G. Wells envisioned....not so good.

Everyone is falling for it, it seems. Make the election all about Brexit (and "crushing the saboteurs", as the gutter press have put it this morning - so much for a "sense of unity") and she gets an increased majority to push through the Tory real agendas.

She's using the opportunity presented by Brexit to secure power for the things she really wants to do, get rid human rights law, increase draconian powers for the security services, end environmental protections, deregulate everything, pursue her idiotic grammar schools policy. That's what you are really voting for if you vote for May, don't kid yourself she's "safe". She clearly dislikes the idea of opposition or debate in Parliament, just like her media paymasters.

It is frustrating watching the seemingly endless stream of working people being wheeled out on the TV news saying "I've always previously voted Labour but this time I'm going to vote Conservative. Corbyn isn't leader material."

Turkeys voting for Christmas IMO.

Of course they are.
Maybe if Labour was led by a concrete mixer fewer of them would.

Real smart woman. Thatcher with a heart. Irrespective of what all the moaners have to say about her she is very popular with the nation as a whole and the following years will show this to be justified as she steers us out of Europe while dealing with all the other orchestrated crap she has to put up with along the way at the same time. I have never voted Conservative in my life but will this time. I'm supporting our country like a true brit should under any difficult circumstance and won't be commenting further.

In Scotland she has no mandate and is scared of Sturgeon. Nuff said!

All Ya'all can rally together and show the world what you can do in the face of adversity....
Or sink like a stone, and become forever more a poxy shit stained isle.
You know, you don't have to come begging the USA with your ass's in your hands before we are willing to help.
Don't forget that.
I've said this before :
Blood runs deep.

Nope, in Scotland we have a better way.

Best of luck with that D.B. ......
But Hadrian's wall is still just a man made {imaginary} line in the sand across the same island. {are you guys still Pict's?}
Eventually you will all have to come to some kind of common terms. The UK has had well over a thousand years to do that.
How long will you {genetically identical} guys continue to fight among-st yourselves?

Not really Drew.
The 2014 ref gave whatever UK govt was returned subsequently a mandate.
You are being emotional other than factual.
And Sturgeon signed the Edinburgh agreement, which bound the UK and Scottish govts to respect and recognise the outcome of the 2014 referendum.
Sturgeon would have got on her first day at lawyer school, 'don't sign anything you don't mean'.
There's a reason the SNP haven't taken their 'mandate for another referendum' to constitutional law court, they don't have a pot to pee in.
