i have studied gong for vast number of hours so far and intend to continue cause i consider that they deserve time and space

my current conclusions are that everything started very very well and went downhill as soon as the sax starting to take a lead role instead of the old preferable guitar

that was when things reared off to go in a different direction and there are quite a few directions that the name of gong went over the years

essential listening:

gong - continental circus
gong - magick brother
gong - camembert electrique
gong - camembert eclectique
dashiell hedayat - obsolete
daevid allen - banana moon
planet gong - live floating anarchy 1977

there are a numerous other fine moments on other albums and there are quite few to find if u are so minded

one gong album may not necessarily sound like another so dip in with care however please do so as pleasures are there awaiting u
