Time Machines

OK- so it's been out for a few years now, but I just got my copy from World Serpent on Saturday morning.
I was working on the PC late Saturday night (doing some stuff for a megalith talk) and was listening to Time Machines through my new Sennheiser phones (lush!). The room was mostly in darkness. I had listened to the 4 drones and towards the end of the last my vision started shimmering- I though because I was tired. I started the first drone again ('Telepathine') and about 5 minutes in something caught my attention standing in the middle of the room. I turned and shouted 'fuckin jesus' just as the image of a blacked out (approx 1 m high) figure disappeared from my reality. I ripped my phones off and switched all the lights on- kinda freaked me out to say the least and was left a bit shaken for a while afterwards. I had only one glass of red wine just in case anyone thinks I was out of me nut!
Has anyone else had any similar experiences whilst listening to Time Machines (or something like it)???

I seem to remember a thread on a topic like this some time back - mostly reffering to time slip type effects listening to Coil (i.e. time dissappearing too fast or not passing at all)...
I think I've had similar optical "shimmering" to that you describe, but that blacked-out figure sounds pretty freaky!

Listened to it loads but never had any 'odd' experiences (well except whilst listening on mushrooms, but that's a whole 'other' area of drone/time displacement type thingies).
I can attest to it putting me in that pre sleep 'theta' state though...i find it just about the most relaxing piece of music I've ever heard. I remember listening to it last summer on my walkman lying in the garden under the stars about 2 a.m or something, just watching the universe drift by. Mmmmmm nice!

played at full blast when my friends dad a vicar was giving confirmation classes downstairs. Head appears round the down wafting his hands around to clear the *smokey* atmosphere. "Err David do you think you could turn that down please"
