I mentioned this in passing in the box set thread a while back, but the new issue of Shindig! magazine (#140) features The Teardrop Explodes on the cover - their first magazine cover since 1981! I've written a lengthy feature on the band inside, as well as a review of the box set, and Andy Morten has contributed a piece looking back at Julian's influental 1983 'Tales From The Drug Attic' NME article.
Julian himself declined to be interviewed, but I did speak at length to Dave Balfe, Paul Simpson, and Mick Finkler, as well as publicist Mick Houghton. It was great to hear their memories of the band.
The mag should be available for a couple more weeks from WH Smiths, selected local newsagents and record shops, or online at https://www.silverbackpublishing.rocks/latest-issue/
