Any idea why this is not available via merchandiser? Too limited edition?

Just been giving it its' first listen and have a very favourable reaction to it. Best Cope related thing I've heard in a while. Can't remember how much I liked the Dope on drugs release, but this is more to my liking. Very reminiscent of Om. This fuck authority chap should be lauded.

FA supported The Melvins last night in Bristol with a amazing drone theremin set.

Cool. Has he retired the Salope moniker? I saw him at Roadburn a few years ago, opened with solo upright, then him and Jesse tore it up as Big Naturals.

Mine dropped on the mat today (Many thanks ES). Wasn't gonna bother with this one, first reports sounded a bit meh to me, but glad I did. Really enjoying it (it's playing as I type). Also like the 'Brainwashed comp' style metal tin and patch. May have to pick one up fer me pal in Manchester when I get paid if there are any left, he was inquiring after it. Was playing that David Wrench,'Spades and Hoes and Plows' album earlier whilst taking a local walk (saw a bloody muntjac deer, little egret and several herons, all just a coupla miles from Brum city centre, but i digress). His (and Cope) version of the Digger song is absolute gold, and even though it's one of these trad rebel songs from hundreds of years ago, the sentiment still holds true. People never fuckin' change, it's depressing.

I got my Dope this week as well. Love the drones and dirges. I also spun the David Wrench album this week (along with a bunch of Black Sheep stuff) and it goes beautifully with the mood of the new Dope.

I've been exploring older English prog rock lately, and finding myself mostly disappointed except for King Crimson and Van Der Graaf. It's the minstrel/maypole dancing kind of flute and lute crap that turns me off. Had they taken the road of these heavy dirges, it would have made for a much more impressive genre.

Yeah, it was always the 'lute and flute' stuff that put me off much of the genre too. Also dug out and love that Christophe F/ Black Sheep album 'Heathen Frontiers In Sound' alongside the David Wrench release. I Think of all the Black Sheep stuff it's those two that chime most with me.

Must admit, all the other versions of Digger Song sound weak compared to the Wrench/BS version. Even Chumbawamba had a go, and managed to make it too hey nonny nonny fer my ears.

Had that old Kraut fav' German Oak on the walkman this week, that sounds like a proto DOPE release if ever I heard one.

In fact Mr Smurf, I think you've inadvertently inspired me to put together my own Black Sheep CDr or two comp fer motorin' and outanaboutin. Cool beans!
