Two main repeat albums this week:

Four Tet - Beautiful Rewind
Another one where much effort hasn't really yielded great reward. Compared to the early FT albums this is lumpen in places, to my ears anyway. There are a couple of decent moments, but overall it's disappointing.

In contrast:

Marnie - Crystal World
First solo album from Ladytron singer. I love this, I can't stop playing it since it went on. Smart synth with a Europop edge in places. No huge departure from Ladytron's records, but frankly marvellous. More please.

Otherwise one band has dominated this week:

The Chameleons - Dali's Picture
The Chameleons - Live At The Gallery
The Chameleons - The Fan & The Bellows
The Chameleons - Script of the Bridge
The Chameleons - Peel Sessions
The Chameleons - Evening Sessions
The Chameleons - What Does Anything Mean, Basically?
The Chameleons - Strange Times

The Chameleons - Tony Fletcher Walked On Water ... EP

The Chameleons - Strip
The Chameleons - This Never Ending Now
The Chameleons - Live at The Academy

From the live vaults:

Sleepy Sun - Daytrotter session

Serafina Steer - Resonance FM session 17.11.12

Jack Rose - WFMU sessions '04 and '05

Beth Porter and the Availables - Miss Peapods 28.11.15

Azimouth Co-ordinator - Exeter Phoenix 30.7.13

Also saw Swedish Death Candy and Yak @ The Underground, Plymouth on Friday

Elsewhere:

Nevermen - S/T. Collaboration between lead singers of FNM, TV on the radio and 13 & God. Great combination and it tends to work

Philip Glass - Heroes Symphony. Awesome in places - mainly the first few tracks

Heather Leigh - I abused Animal. The darker and more sinister element ofBrian Eno sound collages a la Apollo meets PJ Harvey maybe! Quite listenable, which is unusual for her!

Sounds interesting, never heard of her. Is this is a good place to start?

I think it is the only solo album she has done. I have a live recording sound collage type thing that I saw in St Ives plus a session recording that I could send you if you are interested?

Edit RYM reveals she has been recording for 10 years or so, but this is the only album I have heard
