Oh you're a lucky sod, EWF AND the Commodores; Brick House is one of my all time favs:) She's mighty, mighty etc etc.

That is exactly what I was thinking! I missed both of those acts at the time. I remember someone playing the Commodores album with Machine Gun on it at school and not thinking much of it. I was too taken with Watcher of the Skies for a bunch of clean cut blokes in nylon roll necks and funny suits but what do you really know about anything at the age of 12?

Late 70s and early 80s I saw George Benson, Odyssey, Fatback Band, James Brown, Brass Construction, Change and Maze among others but didn't see Parliament or EWF. Bad omissions on my part. The one I really regret missing is The Temptations. Had the chance in 81ish and didn't take it.

I was tempted to see Maze with Frankie Beverly in 1981 or 82, I think, at Hammersmith Odeon but saw something else instead (OMD?). I was only 16 or 17, didn't have the cash at the time to see both & if it was OMD I wouldn't have regretted the choice.
