Pop. 1280 - Paradise
Been looking forward to this release for a while. Bit of a change in direction, in being a little more electronic/ coldwavey than previous releases, but still enjoyable enough. No where near as gnarly as their classic post-punk-esque debut 'The Horror', which is still their bench mark album as far as I'm concerned. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LxMfnL_Hctg


Savages - Adore Life
Only heard this the once, seems like a keeper. They've toned down the Siouxsie histrionics somewhat, but that's no bad thing, and it's better than the art-rock experimentation double up with Bo Ningen, which for me, did neither act any favours (but kudos for trying). They were in the 'papers' this week for kicking off the 8a.m. 30 minute 'pre-work' gig thingy, which sounds more fun than a double esspresso. Hell I'd go to a gig before work, as the singer said, it's a cooler excuse for being late than the bus got stuck.

Bowie - Bowie at the Beeb (Disc 2)
Contains most of my fav' versions of those early Bowie releases in session form. I love the 'work in progress' feel to many of the tracks.

The Residents - Buster and Glen/Duck Stab
I love the primitive electronics vibe of these EP's. Deffo one of those releases that when you play if for peeps who may not have heard it before, the inevitable response is 'What The Fuck!!!'.

Ghostbox Comp - In A Moment (various)
Still not convinced by the track selction for this GB comp, but deffo warming to it. Seems like a missed opportuninty to me though, could have had a comp' with new tracks by the artists, rather than previously available stuff.

Love the heavy stoner shit put out by Monolord. Bit of a one trick pony structure wise, but it's a trick I like, so easy to forgive em'.
