Love this album. Used to use it as a sleeping aid! :D The dreams were often memorable... ;)

I find the KLF to be utterly confusing I know the Album the white room as well as about 10 versions of what time is love but other then that im lost. can someone give a brief lowdown on what they were/are about?

KLF are the Kopyright Liberation Front, formally the Justified Ancients of Mu Mu, or the JAMS. Formed by Jimmy Cauty, formally of Brilliant ( him & Youth of Killing Joke) & Bill Drummond ( formally of Big in Japan, & the manager of Teardrop Explodes.) They advocated a punk/ situationist manifesto of reusing/ recombining elements of culture to create something new, mainly in the form of samples.
This resulted in a test case where Abba took them to court, & won, where it was established that each sample used would result in a 10 per cent royalty payment to the original artist. Since each of their album tracks consisted of more than 10 samples every copy of their album was ordered to be destroyed. Their career ended in the ultimate situationist gesture of filming the burning of a million pounds on a Scottish island, & filming it. PHEW!

thanks for that!

Yes, I love it. I remember when it had been deleted and was hens teeth to find, before eventually coming across it in a 2nd hand place on cd for a reasonable fee. It is still, to my mind, one of the best, purest, ambient albums made before the term got co-opted to mean anything remotely 'chill out'. A lovely bit of work.

The FLK's album seems to have slunk quietly out. Called Mummers http://mumusic.bigcartel.com/product/mummers ..I drove past Wigtown three weeks back and found out the following day that Drummond and pals had been giving a performance there at that very moment. Grrr.
