Yes - Progeny
Probably wont usurp Yessongs in my affections but there are enough unique elements in each of the shows to make the box worth the price of admission. I am a big fan of Bruford's playing but the sheer violence of the White / Squire rhythm section coupled with Howe's trebly attack is unlike anything else in rock. The separation in these mixes really emphasises that aspect and also helps clear a path between guitars and keyboards. It's for the most part the antithesis of pastoral, more Mad Max than Midnight Mushrumps.

The Roches - Keep On Doing
John Coltrane - Live In Paris
Art Ensemble - Nice Guys
Art Pepper Meets The Rhythm Section
Mingus - Changes Two
Duke Ellington - And His Mother Called Him Bill (Music Of Billy Strayhorn)
The Who By Numbers (Remastered)
The Who Sell Out
Nils Lofgren - Cry Tough
Fugazi - First Demo
Galley Beggar - Silence & Tears
Ruts D.C - Rhythm Collision Vol 1

Nick Drake - Bryter Layter
Nick Drake - Pink Moon

The Beatles - The White Album (also tried out the 'Betterasasingle' version as featured in this blog: http://betterasasingle.blogspot.co.uk/2011_04_01_archive.html It works pretty well. 7 songs a side like Revolver, but with the emphasis on the gentler fingerpicking moments. I saved it here if anyone wants to give it a listen without having to compile it themselves: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ti5s8r1h7dj5jy8/AABXNDZCXZMs14vXeCBOlohha?dl=0)

Genesis - The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway

Michael Chapman - Rainmaker

Fairport Convention - Live At The BBC

Queen - Live At The Rainbow '74

Amon Duul II - Carnival In Babylon

Frank Mills -- "Music Box Dancer" Finally got a copy of this from Discogs, and to celebrate I just posted a review of it on Unsung. Still a guilty pleasure.

Lou Reed -- The Blue Mask... Found this on vinyl after selling my CD version of it years ago. Just one of those records that sound better on vinyl anyhoo...

Was on a Lou Reed kick so I also played Sally Can't Dance and Coney Island Baby and then Link Wray's self titled album from '71 which I also reviewed on Unsung very recently. Oh and Follazoid III...

Main replays this week for Lonelady - Nerve Up
Her second album Hinterland is my favourite record of this year so far, so I thought I should make the effort to get her first, which passed me by back in 2010. It's also excellent, I really like the propulsive guitar playing.

Otherwise:

Joy Division - Unknown Pleasures

Joy Division - Still
New Order - Low-life
New Order - "Bizarre Love Triangle" 12"
New Order - "True Faith" 12"
New Order - Substance
Joy Division - Substance
New Model Army - Thunder and Consolation

New Model Army - Impurity
Autechre - Anti EP

David Sylvian - There's A Light That Enters Houses With No Other House In Sight
Walls - Urals
