Saw them a long long time ago, probably just after Dragging Along came out, in a flea pit in Biringham called The Barrel Organ. Was OK as I recall, but i was probably very, very drunk, so don't recall much.

Peel played the 'Draggin' single a lot, plus they did a great Session in the same year (91/92?)

Probably the heart of their Nick Cave festishization.

If you enjoy GD you really gotta check out Amazing Snakeheads, similar ball park soundwise, but a new band with a stunnng stage presence. Know i've barfed on about em' quite a lot, but really, you'll never witness such menacing self belief on a small stage. Awesome band.

'Bout the same time remember another groovy beat groop called Thee Hypnotics.
Not at all like GD, but stunning in their single mindedness to capture that 'Detroit' sound from the 60's / 70's. Now they WERE good live.
