The spacey glissando guitar bits of Daevid Allen's Gong. I didn't know he was shown it by Syd Barrett.
Also the two seventies albums by fellow Gongster Tim Blake. Much better than I expected with lots more spacey bits.

Tim Blake's Crystal Machine is a stone cold classic. Hell, I'm sure Vangelis nicked slabs of it for the Bladerunner OST.

Here it is live in Paris...

"Hedvig Mollestad Trio – Club Inégales, London. Oh wow, Hedvig & co were just amazing. Many moments of sublime jazz rock heaviness, Hedvig is my idea of a role model for the girls (whether they like it or not!), lots of stiletto/pedal board action… https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YiIxltR4eV0
(I’ve never been to a proper jazz club before – I had to wait before I was allowed to enter so the house band could finish its jam!)"

WOW! Sounds ace! Up the 'Vig!

She was awesome, playing just a few feet away in a tiny basement club. Only her second gig in the UK, the first being the previous night when she'd supported John McLaughlin at the Festival Hall.

Bob Dylan - Complete Basement Tapes
Worked my way through all six disks last week. As has been said already, disk six is a bit ropey and I have the feeling that those tracks were only released to ensure that no one could make any money by releasing a "here's the tracks they didn't release" unofficial bootleg. I already have A Tree with Roots, but its good to have this version and there is some really great stuff that I've not heard before on there.

The RAW 2cd version is pretty great in itself so will look forward to geting a chance to listen to the rest of this.

There's also a new band who've worked up versions of some unrecorded lyrics by Dylan from the time. They've got as far as releasing an lp and playing live & on tv a few times but I've yet to hear them. I'm a bit put off by the presence of one of Mumford and sons.

I think Jason Simon of Dead Meadow's side project Old Testament who are inspired by Basement Tapes etc might be a better prospect.

Mind you, don't trust me too much when it comes to Tarwater, bit of a musical blind spot, in that just about anything by them seems to go down a treat with me.

Me too!
