Spaceship - Walthamstow Marshes moved on from playing this with different drones to using it soundtrack wildlife documentries on youtube, in one all the wildebeest ran away when the bike bell started ringing which was mildly amusing :-)
also listened to Kelvedon Hatch & Dronevil by Boris at the same time [without wildebeest vids :-( ]
Damo Suzuki & Solus 3 -live excellent live recording of Damo with Mr B's band, talking of HH regulars gave
Dead Sea Apes & Black Tempest - The Sun Behind The Sun a spin as well, after praise for new DSA lp , ended up getting the new 11 Paranoias & Haikai No Ku instead as I found out the HNK lp is nearly sold out
Saw Blown Out play a short but sweet set on Thursday and got the new LP which is well worth a listen, also listened to a bit of Lobster Priest, Basillica & Chonyid.Found out the Haikai No Ku gig I missed in Gateshead was a bit of a damp squib as the amps blew up after 20 mins, not really surprising if you've seen Mike vest play.Mrs Elf found Blown Out a bit loud so we listened to Khuunt outside the pub, she didn't like them at all, shame means I can't buy her a Khuunt tee shirt for xmas
Superfjord/Earthling Society play Coltrane
Postcards from the Deep v/a
7&7 is v/a all FDM releases and all excellent especially the Coltrane set
Earthling Society - England Have My Bones
Slade - Alive
Rory Gallagher - Irish Tour 74 this expanded set is superb, some moans on the net about the extra discs not being top quality fidelity, fuck off back to your DSOTM quadrophonic lps you sad tossers and let the rest of us enjoy the music
Any other spare time was taken up with Robert Plant & Led Zeppelin, Plant live was top quality this week, I can quite happily live without LZ retreading old ground if Plant keeps rewriting his past with such aplomb, would have been gig of the year in any other year, sorry Robert but Kates Helicopter beats even Whole Lotta Love
Relived Plants bad old days with a bunch of Zep boots Seattle 75, LA 70,75 & 77 and Japan 71 and listened to his solo stuff from Dreamland onwards

Nektar - A Tab In The Ocean 2 disc - anything good on the 2nd disc?

Disc one comprises of the original 1972 mix, and the 1976 USA mix of the album, and it's a worthy coupling.
The difference is very noticeable, and the 76 mix holds it's own.

Disc two, gives you Official Bootleg, recorded live in Germany from 1971 and very good it is, too.
Stuck onto the end is a 1973, live in the studio run through of Desolation Valley/Waves.

For £9.00, you really can't go wrong.

didn't know about the US mix, sounds like it's worth having, another dilemma about old music vs new, I seem to be buying more and more lps from pre 75 than I do new ones these days, must be getting old

Vinyl:

Dead Sea Apes - High Evolutionary
A game-changer for the Apes - definitely a step upwards into the stratosphere. Great album. I'm particularly enjoying Planetarium on side one.

Qa'a - Sang
Still getting to know this vast and wonderful triple.

Datashock - Keine Oase In Sicht

Blown Out - Drifting Way Out Between Suns
Hot damn! This is a beast of squealing rocking, droning repeato doom. Love it.

CDs:

Tangerine Dream - Phaedra
Yes - Close to the Edge
Moody Blues - Seventh Sojourn
David Bowie - Hunky Dory
Angels Egg -Gong
Supertramp - Crime of the Century
Supertramp - Even In The Quietest Moments
Robert Plant - The Ceaseless Roar

MP3s:

All those Chonyid recordings - ambient doom joy! Love 'em.

Edit: nearly forgot...
Henry Cow - Leg End, Unrest, Western Culture
It was a real pleasure and a privilege to see them live on Friday.

Edit 2:
How could I forget...
Gong - I See You
Cracking new album, as good as the brilliant 2032. Hope Mr Alien gets well soon and records more with this stonking new band.

Nick Cave and The Bad Seeds - Nocturama. An amazing and a quite overlooked creation of a recording.

Versuvio - Cope O'Malley, McGrail
Cursory listens, I'm enjoying a great deal, not really tuned in properly though, on as background to other activities.

Cope - Revolutionary Suicide, Preaching Revolution, You Got A Problem...
Wasn't really a fan of these when they were released, but recent listenings have thawed my inital wariness. There's a lot of humour in these releases it's easy to over look.
They were on hard drugs - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DsKf7AZcIN8
Vampire State Buildng - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ne082S1wAIk
Raving In The Moor - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ODV2wLDSx9I

Einsturzende Neubauten - Strtegies IV
Collection of later, more song oriented material with the odd old skool interlude. Great collection/selection of trax. No-ones bass sound is as taught and compact as Neubaten's, sheer mass, it really is a thing of beauty. Insomnia - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a6To4CxEhKU
Wo Sind Meine Schuhe? - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LUeRSzjt23A
Youme Meyou (live) - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6ulbK3tUMNg

Commercial - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn96e7Fm6ig

Depeche Mode - Music For The Masses/black celebration/101w
101 is a great album. Dunno how 'live' most the tracks are, but it's a wonderful greatest hits for the time.
Never let me down - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=snILjFUkk_A
Pimpf - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NZAUtUUxddk
A Question Of Time - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9pt7EWFF_T8

Hair and skin trading company - Over Valance
Second album from ex Loopsters that gets heavier/more menacing the further you progress through it. Definate airs of Sonic Youth on a few tracks. Good Stuff! On Again Off Again - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q0nJbfM5eOU
Take Control - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DwSKbYBIFvk

Godflesh - Rise and Fall EP, Streetcleaner, World Lit Only By Fire
Like they've never been away, almost. Few recycled drum patterns on Rise and Fall EP, but I can forgive em' that.
EP - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5ylzxxDW9es
Like Rats - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XypoykrU3rQ
New Dark Ages - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3PqXB-u4j04

The Myrrors - Burning Circles In The Sky
N'other great Cardinal Fuzz release/re-issue.
Album Stream - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F3lKVUsDBnc

Plaid - Reachy Prints
Best album he's released ever, period. That stint with Seeland did him good. Tether - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0kCgMJ36dAg
Hawkmoth - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jv2QBtbUTqU
Nafovanny - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PgXu3cKvveA

Various - Punk 45 vols 1/2/3
Love these comps, quite a few of the usual suspects, but on the whole, some great stuff that's new to me.
Death - Polititans in My Eyes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rl3FstCc_OY
Crime - Hotwire to my heart - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ApgnE2RK3w
Patiche - Derelict Bulevard - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CUufrojBpgw

Death and Vanilla - EP
Still my fav' material by Sweden's would be Broadcaster's.
Godspeed - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qoSbxKWdPGE
Ghost in the Machine - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kTRzfx8Viqs
The Colour of Space -https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gNeHhdrxZAE

That's me in a nutshell, too.
I'm constantly dipping into back catalogue's, and pre 75 seems to level with mine.
Always on the look out for the new, though.
