You missed this one. Anti-funk and punk. As good the Glasgow scene was, it was wiped out by the likes of of Deacon Blue, The River Detectives, Wet Wet Wet and basically plastic funk shite bands who had never even heard James Brown or The Gang of Four.

Anyway, this lot were great, even from the East Coast, as were Josef K. Nomatter. It happened in Glasgow, and that is the essence of chaos! Brill.

I actually tried to walk home 40 miles after missing the Edinburgh bus to Glasgow after a JAMC and Shop Assistants gig in Edinburgh. Got picked up by the mary chain lot apres-gig and spent the night in a van and ended up in an odd nice house, playing piano and eating fried eggs in EK in the morning.

A ten mile walk to home, but at least that lot were nice.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Shared a taxi to George Square with most of the Shoppies in order to get the bus to wherever. It was cool and reciprocated.

Went to the Princes Street thang in Edinburgh with a load of friends. In a friendly stramash previous to getting there, I ended unintentionally banging my head against a pillar with a fountain of blood spouting out of my head. Fountain stylee for real. Blood everywhere. No fear! Cleaned up and went to the venue with a bunch of people.

Met Alex Shoppie and had a chat about stuff. I had a huge gash on the top of my head. Are you ok? she said. I think so I said. She dedicated a song for me.

Then it gets better..........

I got near home in the late Summer sun. At the train station I stole some porn mags from the stand, fell asleep at home and was found walking up the street naked and playing a guitar. I tried to pay on the bus with bottle tops. I have no memory of this.

Told by others.

We have a family history of sleepwalking.

I was called 'Nick The Stripper' for a while.

How good is that?

What a gig experience!
