Try and save this for when I have something good to pass along

Eddie Palmieri - Sentido
Brilliant 70s progressive Latin jazz album from probably the greatest NY Salsa act not on Fania.

Horse Meat Disco IV
Compilation of the kind of hard hitting disco records that would get played at Planets and The Embassy circa 1983. A little Funkadelic here some Gwen Guthrie there and from Italy the genius Misa Luba which sounds like an Electro Manu Dibango tribute record with the Glitter Band on vocals. One for fans of the Prophet 5, 808 handclap, conga and clave sounds and Larry Levan et al.

And from a closely related world of walking octave bass lines and big mutant disco hooks but mixed with John Martyn style folk tunes and the NY avant garde of Yoko, John Somebody and Laurie Anderson .....

The World Of Arthur Russell - various

And further out again and a little earlier in the 80s (but a little later to vinyl).....

Scott Johnson - John Somebody

Inspired by recommendations here:

Matt Berry - Music for Insomniacs. I see he uses that song that was on Toast and kill the wolf again. Love it. Still prefer Kill the Wolf, mind

Kikagaku Moyo - Forest of Lost Children

Verma - Sunrunner. Best thing they've done me thinks Short and sweet. Actually The'I' recommended that one

Elsewhere, it has been a case of:

DJ Hell - Teufelswerk. Funny having Brian Ferry and P-Diddy on the same record!

Tame Impala - Lonerism

SBTRCT - S/T

Soulsavers - The light the dead see

Soft Moon - S/T

Trad Gras Och Stenar - S/T

Super Furry Animals - Rings Around the World. My fav of theirs. Consistently smashing

This is the Kit - Wriggle out the Restless

Blown Out - Solar Queen / Sun Rot. A couple fine slices of power trio, guitar led jams and grooves with nice bass rumble. In my heart, I would like a little more lunacy in here, but I like v much.

Baron - Illegitimate Nephew
Purson - The Circle & the Blue Door
Valve Rider - Bring on the Heavy
Warpaint - The Fool
Lutine - White Flowers
Rush - Clockwork Angels
Kiss - Monster
Okkultokrati - Night Jerks
Acid Mothers Temple - Just Another Band from Cosmic Inferno
Spring Heel Jack - 68 Million Shades
Early Mammal - Horror at Pleasure
Mastodon - Once 'Round the Sun
Robin Trower - Live
Mothership -st
The Prodigy - The Fat of the Land
John Tavener - Total Elipse & Agraphon

Have a nice week x

Brian Jonestown Massacre - Tepid Peppermint Wonderland
Caravan - For Girls Who Grow Plump in the Night
Family - Family Entertainment
The Strawbs - From the Witchwood

Aphex Twin - Syro
Enjoying this a great deal.

Mastodon - Once More 'Round the Sun
Similarly - very entertaining. Reminds me of Baroness.

The Heads - Everybody Knows We Got Nowhere
(2 CD edition) Wish I could have afforded the vinyl box set, but heck this is so good.

Lots of Bong-related stuff again:
Blown Out - Sun Rot
Haikai No Ku - Ultra High Dimensionality
11 Paranoias -Spectral Beastiaries
Bong - Mana-Yood-Sushai

Anthroprophh - Outside the Circle
Utterly totally ace. Buy it now.

Goat - Commune
Good fun, but I've got to say it leaves me a bit flat. Much though I love the Goat sound, I can't but feel there is something slightly missing. I'm willing to give this a bit longer though - it may just be first impressions.

It's really wonderful, and the box set must be incredible.
