Berlioz - Requiem, Grande Messe des Morts. Had I not gone to Supernormal I'd like to have seen this at the Proms on Saturday. My parents went to a recent performance at St Pauls. It was an event apparently (huge orchestra and chorus) but my dad was a little disappointed as he said some of the sound was lost in the cavernous cathedral but chatting to him about Berlioz's use of space in the music, and arranging the brass in different places in the orchestra etc intrigued me. Thoroughly enjoying it.
