Liturgy is a farce of a band. Much like Krallice. Ugh...can't wait until the hipsters move on to the next fad and away from black metal.

I'm really enjoying Kaputt, but don't know much about his back catalogue - should I check it out. I'm also loving the DVD that comes with Suede - I was at the Leadmill gig and it's brought back some fond memories from on of my best-gigs-ever.

Thurston Moore - Demolished Thoughts. Only one listen so far but very nice. Mellow acoustic guitars, cello, summer sounds. Snorkel - Stop Machine. Not quite as immediate as Glass Darkly which had a Can/This Heat vibe. This is a bit more dancey and ...er squelchy. Think I'll grow to like it though. Miles Davis - Complete On the Corner Box Set - Genius. Difficult to understand why this was so vilified at the time. Boris - Attention Please & Heavy Rocks (2011). Two new releases of which Attention Please is massively better. First track almost disco and overall really enjoying it. Heavy Rocks will not contravene trades description although seems a bit painting by numbers. Morton Feldman - Last Composition - Piano. Violin, Viola, Cello. Sublime as ever. The Tambouras of Prandit Pan Nath - La Monte Young & Marian Zazeela 10cc - How Dare You. Hearing 'Don't Hang Up' on radio caused me to dust this one off. Zappa - Make a Jazz Noise Here. Love the version of Black Napkins on this. Gastr Del Sol - Camoufleur. Keiji Haino and Loren Mazzacane Connors - Vol2 Iggy Pop - New Values Dinosaur Jr -Ear Bleeding Country. Reminded me of my other fave DJnr song Take a Run at The Sun. Cowboys International - s/t Anyone remember this lot. Still sounds very good. Keith Levene pops up. Some good radio this week: Roedelius Late Junction session; Jazz on 3 from NY Vision Festival. Powerful set from Pulverised Sound. Oren Ambarachi - all 10 mins very good but not the 30 min improv set it was trailed as. Have a great listening week Headsters. Edit: for sp mistakes that i never see when not wearing glasses.

Sin Agog wrote: Rävjunk - Uppsala Stadshotell Brinner (Excellent raw and ripping fuzzy Swedish 70s Heavy-Psyche group... Buy this beast if that blurb piques your interest) It's OOP but I managed to nab a d/load and I see your point - it goes from punk to psych to prog. Cool shout, Sin. "Initially named Libbet Sväller. The band started around 1975 and are a pre-punkband. Rävjunk means a foxes piss. Played at Hinseberg, a prison for women, alot of times. Their EP Bohman, Bohman got banned on national swedish radio for mocking a political party leader. The band split up in the early 80´s." HERE.

Five Leaves Left - Nick Drake Pink Moon – Nick Drake I don’t play Nick Drake anywhere near as often as I used to, but it doesn’t half still sound special. I expect Five Leaves Left to sounds as beautiful as ever and it doesn’t disappoint (Day Is Done has just been on - those high strings at the end of it are gorgeous!). Pink Moon, on the other hand, is generally considered a sparse album, consisting almost entirely as it does of just acoustic guitar and vocals, but listening to this track now it doesn’t sound that way at all. But that almost whispered voice and those gently picked strings fill out the sound to an almost lush degree. And Things Behind The Sun best described as beautiful rather than raw or harrowing which are other words I’m sure are generally used to describe this album. The Stone Turntable - Transglobal Underground I wasn’t sure about the latest from the mighty TGU at first but it’s a grower. The Roots Of Paul McCartney – V/A CD with this month’s Mojo. Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, chuck Berry and Chan Romero’s Hippy Hippy Shake. Really good if you like that kind of thing. I do! Conscience – The Beloved / X – The Beloved Not everyone’s cup of tea admittedly, but some great pop/dance numbers. Also... Peace At Last – Blue Nile Raw Power - Iggy & The Stooges Real Life – Magazine The Correct Use Of Soap – Magazine Young Gifted And Black: The Story Of Trojan Records – V/A Plus Black Session 2007 & Tiny Desk Session 2011 – Low
