Here's that addy again if anyone is curious..

http://www.pitch-a-tent.com/camper/

.quite tempted to get the new boxset..just for the orchestral arrangemt to "..favorite Fruit"

Picked up Key Lime Pie recently on disc after having the tapes for years..Been listening to that and Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart recently

As an aside..I knew..though not personally,thankfully..the guy at The Rat to whom the band refers in the song "Never go back" ...eeesh..some suspect goons at the doors of that place

Anyway..Howden..just dropped you a note re:Devoto if you're still looking for it...(just in case the addy doesn't work..mine does...'-) )

Sure. I loved both "II And III" and especially "Third Album", a crazy multi-faceted patchwork of all-over-the-place influences from balkan folk to psychedelia, tex-mex, country and hardcore. Wasn't so keen on "Our Beloved Revolutionary Sweetheart" - except for the cover of "Oh Death" - as it sounded a bit flat and over-produced, but "Key Lime Pie" had more than enough great moments tro make it worth buying. Will be going to see them when they play the RFH on Sunday.

Incidentally, have you heard Kaleidoscope? I reckon their "Infinite Patterns, Infinite Colours" compilation is pretty much exactly what the Campers would have sounded like if they'd started 20 years earlier. They covered "Oh Death" too.

Bollocks! Just duplicated my earlier post under the mistaken impression that this was a new thread on the same subject. A severe birching is in order for me, followed by 500 lines...

I must read the entire thread before replying in a frenzy of premature excitement and making a tosser of myself.

I am! That's if the snow don't keep 'em away. Can't imagine they get much of that in Santa Cruz.
