Lady Gaga - The Fame Monster - haha, yeah, I know, but Bad Romance is a superb song. Plus my 2 year old loves it, and my wife sings along to it in the car. Unlike La Roux, it's all about the singles on this one for me. The rest pales in comparison.

i've got this sitting in my basket at amazon - can't quite bring myself to purchase it - but i really like the singles & the vids she does and have a bit of respect for her...

I was the same. Kept picking it up, putting it down, adding to baskets, taking out of baskets. Ended up buying it with some xmas vouchers. Only played it twice in the car so far so the non-singles songs haven't sunk in yet. But like you I find the singles, and videos, pretty darn good. In fact the songs don't shine as much without the raunchy video playing along, hahaha. The version of Bad Romance is censored on the album. Instead of "I'm a freak bitch baby" she's a 'freak bit baby'. BIT?? Bitch is hardly something to censor is it, especially when she's going on about her muffin and riding disco sticks in the other songs.

Never thought I'd be discussing Lady Gaga on here!

Some great choices there, Bubbles. Enjoyed the write-ups, too.

In the latest Fortean Times magazine (FT258 michael jackson cover)- Lady Gaga comes in at Number One in 'Pop's Illuminati Top Ten'- a great (and tongue in cheek) article which sets out all the different pop stars of today who feature in conspiracy theories worldwide.
It mentions things like the level of subversion in lyrics and things like the use of occult symbolism and hand signals in their videos etc.

There is a disturbing photo of a smiling Simon Cowell, which is bad enough anyway, but this shows him astride a Jetski which has a masonic symbol emblazoned on the front!

When I interviewed Bill Drummond last year, he said that although he didn't really listen to music anymore, he did like what he'd heard and seen of Lady GaGa- the concept and the look as well as the music. When I told him about this site and how she was considered to be an illuminati puppet, he freaked out somewhat, speculating that maybe he'd find out that he was behind Lady GaGa after all, without knowing it.

The Unthanks - Here's The Tender Coming. Bought on a whim having read some high-praise reviews and it's clear blown me away. Timeless.

Fuck Buttons - Tarot Sport. Old skool psycho electro wig-out.

Eno - Warm Jets / Taking Tiger Mountain / Another Green World / Before & After Science. Albums that rarely go long without a decent airing but refreshed by the Arena doc. I miss Eno in his "mischievous' guise.

Angels Of Light - We Are Him. Re-aquanting myself with Michael Gira & what he's been up to over the last 10 years.

I just had an email about this. Faux-Fac-Fops White Lies are playing there.

Did you go to the DC show by the way? Funds were too short for me, but we're going to London for the gig this Sunday.
