i don;t really care what she's doing now, but 1st 2 solo LPs + "life w/ the lions" are incredible ... maybe my favourite rock vocalist ever ... while everyone else was getting all lyrical, she was just BLASTING ...

I really like the new album!
the 1970 POB album is phenomonal, too.
I love Yoko and have done since I was a kid... her tracks were always my favourites on Double Fantasy.
I don't really understand why people hate her so much either.
fair enough her music isn't for everyone but the HATRED... woah...
anyway props to her for being in her 70's and still rocking out.

She sat on Paul's amp, took one of George's Rich Tea Digestives without asking. Oh, and corrupted loveable, cuddly John Lennon.
I don't like her 'caretaking' of his legacy though. I'm not sure John would be too pleased with her treatment of Julian, the Nike advert, mugs and tea towels etc..

"Approximately Infinte Universe" is the album that confounds a lot of Yoko's sceptics - and I recommend it to anyone. There are a few shouty tracks, but there is also a fine ear for melody.
I saw her live at the RFH this year - the problem I felt was that she was overplaying the avant-garde aspect of her career because it's suddenly cool and excluding her more melodic, tender side - thus underselling herself.
Anyone who's ever heard "Open Your Soul To Me" or "I Want My Love To Rest Tonight" will know what I mean.

huh? i'm 74 yrs old, + own 'em all (some on old wax, some on CD, if that's ok w/ you) ... wdn' t matter if i was 12 yrs old + was cranking the mp3s tho, wd it? they're still great (in fact, back in the day, i had a goddam TAPE of "fly" - what's yr verdict on home taping?)
