I too love that record and listen to it all the time... I have it on vinyl and listen to it in the early morning and late, late, late at night.

I knew the engineer / producer on the disc, a freak called George Chikiantz. Had done some great work. His stories of the recordings were vague - they were all completely out of their boxes the whole time. He did mention Brian being totally left in the lurch by the rest of the Stones at this stage. This was when he was effectively ousted from the band. Personally I love the effects George gave the record.

I'd forgotten all about the record until I saw Nic Roeg's masterpiece BAD TIMING. Sufi and jajouka swirl around throughout the soundtrack of this film and it really evokes a sense of time, and a feeling of decadence and spritual connection. Check this film out, fellow heads. It's a head-fuck.

Roll on

I, Faustus
