Oh it's just press, I wouldn't read too much into it. But yeah, their paths crossed many times both personally & professionally. Jimmy Page was on Loog-Oldham's Immediate label and played on several sessions w/Mick & Keith (some of these demos later appeared on METAMORPHOSIS). John Paul-Jones worked on Satanic Majesties, providing the string arrangement for "She's A Rainbow". A few years later, LZ rented the Stones' Mobile Unit and recorded some sessions at Jagger's Stargroves estate, some of which ended up on PHYSICAL GRAFFITI, including "Boogie With Stu", their jam w/Stones pianist Ian Stewart.
Years later Page would join forces w/Bill & Charlie (among many others) for the ARMS benefit concerts.
Etc. etc. I think Page nicked a groupie (Pamela Des Barres?) from Jagger at some point in the mid-70s, causing Mick to add this couplet to "Starfucker" in concert:
"Jimmy Page was all the rage/ I could not see the reason why"
I don't see it as bad blood so much as Keith just giving attention-grabbing soundbites.
