It was my point, yes.

I've recently become quite fascinated by the whole Manson Family thing. I've aquired almost all of his recordings, read Helter Skelter and I've put the White Album on rotation quite a few times but I still don't hear what Charlie heard...

Is that normal?

I'm worried that I may be lacking the requisite faculties to make a good self styled guru...

If you "Don't" hear what Charlie "Heard", That's probably a GOOD thing!

Hendrix didn't have the Mansons, but he did have...

"Star Spangled Banner" Woodstock is an iconic moment both in sound and image.

How many people did the Manson Family kill as a result of heavy rotation of Electric Ladyland?

TOTALLY devalues the disc dunnit? I mean might as well consign it to being a frisbee eh?

Funny that both Manson & Hendrix knew Arthur Lee pretty early on. there's a story that the Family used to frequent Love gigs. & Bobby Beausoleil had some connection with Love.
Hendrix's first recording session was supposed to be on an Arthur penned track wasn't it?

mermaid. what a fabulous track, i remember listening to that at full volume in my old pontiac whilst on my own one night tearing down the m4 at two in the morning, the rain battering the windscreen and water coming in on the driver side window cos it used to rattle out of its seating at a hundred plus but my amp was two hundred a channel and i had one fifty watt speakers on the back shelf so the unholy racket of an old tank of a motor rattling itself to pieces was drowned out by our jimi who art in heaven.

I love both these albums as I grew up with them courtsey of an older brother and sister.

It's hard for me to pull them apart or discuss them in any way - sound as oxygen! ....and as for 'Revolution #9'..... it shaped the way I thought in my teens!

Unsung - yeeeehaaaa !!
