Your Last Live Five

Here's mine:

A stand-up comedy show featuring Sean Collins, Jason Wood, Geoff Norcott and Andy Parsons.

Yann Tiersen. A real treat and a hot contender for my best of the year.

The Mighty Diamonds. Reggae stalwarts. A totally spannered night. Pure joy.

Bryan Corbett. Jazz trumpeter extrordinaire. Nice.

Cappil10. A local group who played in my living room a couple of weeks ago.

Will do. Should be good but I am taking a book and the Independent crossword just in case.

Aw don't! I actually remember seeing Low a few years back. Perfectly pitched and all that, and most of the audience actually DID have the odd Penguin Classic with them 9the one's who were sitting).
For purely aesthetic reasons, of course.

Cara Dillon & Sam Lakeman, Lori Watson and John Smith on that Nu-routes tour. I was particularly impresssed by John Smith who also supported John Martyn on tour.

Roger McGuinn - A bit of a formula show but I couldnt pass up the opportunity to see the man himself with his 7 string (?) guitar playing his songs.

Andy Cutting, accordian maestro and recipe king, and Martin Simpson, wonderful guitar player - one of the best I’ve seen. Nu-routes tour again.

Gareth Scott, local bloke Tim Buckleyesque at best, and Jackie Leven who’s much greater live than he is on record and he’s pretty good on record.

Des Horsfall & Ian Alveston (warming up for a gig they got supporting Joe Ely in Sheffield) and a lovely chap from Northumberland called Johnny Dickenson who plays brilliant bottleneck and sings soulful like Paul Rodgers.

These are over the last 6 months or so. I must get out more.

Seen nothing since Flipper before Xmas. Heard about 300 live sets, maybe more.
Caught a Neubauten from 2 days before London which shows they've still got it. Just listening to a '70 Pentangle.
Probly listening to far more live music than studio these days since the torrents are going to computer which is being used as living room stereo.
Cds are being played in bedroom where cd player is.
Spending more time in living room. Weird having 2 such separate rooms after living in bedsit/keeping to bedroom to avoid turd housemate.

It's not aethetic reasons. Most bands bore me shitless after 20-30 minutes and after 10pm my body veers dangerously towards narcolepsy!

Turns out I have a spare ticket if anyone wants it but I can't get there much before she goes on at 10pm.
