i've finally had ENOUGH of everybody calling the beatles and the beach boys overrated, so i have constructed my own list in order to attempt to redress this cruel imbalance. personally i think these are all overrated:
nirvana - nevermind
sex pistols - never mind...
everything by the who
most stuff by the kinks
david bowie
neil young
siouxie (sp?) & the banshees
JOY DIVISION
kate bush
if all of the above just vanished from history, i'd barely raise a shrug. indeed i'd raise a glass.

Bah, if anything The Who is underrated..except for Tommy which is indeed overrated..
C'mon, The Who Sell Out is a classic..

1, Pet Sounds - 4 genius tracks and a load of fillers.
2, The Stone Roses
3, Van Morrison - Moon Dance
4, most modern electronic lounge type stuff, i.e Groove Armada, Lemon Jelly, Goldfrapp - these albums usually contain 3 or 4 brilliant tracks and the rest is average.
can't say I've ever heard a bad album by Kraftwerk, Robert Wyatt or John Coltrane though. Their least works still tower above most other stuff.
I'll get off me high horse and get me coat.....
