Sountrack to our lives, 12-9-04
Sep 12, 2004, 14:03
Been a bit busy, so havent heard an awful lot of music. But this week has seen the resurgence of the humble cassette, as we finally got round to putting a new (to us) cassette player into the car. So I dug out some old tapes, pretty much at random, and shoved them in the glovebox.

So this week, my driving experience has been textured by this short list...

The Lemonheads - It's a shame about Ray...

My favourite song on this album is My Drug Buddy, an opinion shared by whoever picks the background music for Trigger Happy TV, since this song has featured regularly. Other notable moments include the cover versions of Frank Mills (from the musical, Hair) and Mrs Robinson, which was released as a single at a time when everyone seemed to be releasing covers of 60's and 70's hits - I seem to recall some band doing a grungy version of Wuthering Heights at about the same time...

The other cassette wot got a lot of hot snot woz Led Zeppelin. I don't know what it's called precisely. Probably something like "The Best of Led Zeppelin". It features most of their best known songs, such as Whole Lotta Love, Stairway to heaven, Battle of Evermore, Kashmir, etc.

It's been ages since I listened to them, so it was good to hear again.
