I like Edwyn a lot. Prefer his solo stuff to OJ to be honest. Dennis was a bit of a one trick pony I suppose, but he alays made me laugh. Don't suppose you know if it was him who did a programme about going to a Cliff Richard convention with lots of his fans? I saw this years ago - before I knew who DP was - and wondered if it was him. Certainly his style, and when he finally met Cliff himself at the end, very funny!!

Horrible band! A schoolmate of mine was mad on them and briefly succeeded in brainwashing me. I can stomach the likes of Lucky Man and I liked that track on Trilogy that went 'please, please', but someone should have trapped Keith Emerson's fingers under the piano lid once he left The Nice ; )

"A Girl Like You" is pretty cool. Iremember hearing that on WBER before it became more commercial... I think I have the Gorgeous George album but I don't remember anything else good on it and haven't played it in, like, ages! Mebbe I'll play it again... Really liked Orange Juice also.

I mostly only ever liked "Lucky Man" (which was on AM rotation when I was a child, so I can instantly recognise it) and that one w/ those acoustic-guitar jazz-chords where the lyrics go "You were meant to be here".

Still.....You Turn Me On From "Trilogy", easily their best album. I'd say it's the only one I "really" like, the rest I mostly enjoy for their camp value!

Is that the 'please, please' one I like?

The rather cynical anti-music business one on GG was rather good IIRC. Thought the next album I'm Not Following You was better though. One of my unsung albums I guess.

Sounds less wanky than ELP usually is. Could've been primo CS&N actually...

First of all I think I goofed . . . Lawrence's tune ("you see it's alll cleah, you were ment to be heahhhhhh") is called "From The Beginning" . . . Lake wrote quite a few of those CSNY-jazzy-dribbly cosmic oh wow tunes, it's easy to get them all confused. ;-) The "please please open your eyes" bombast is also on Trilogy and is called "The Endless Enigma"
