[In respect of the firefighters strike] "Deputy Prime Minister John Prescott said that the £6million cost of the strike would have to be taken from budgets designed to help the most vulnerable in society."

HAVE to be? You pathetic wanker, Prescott. How about taking it from the companies who geefully feed at the PPP and PFI tables? You know, the ones who say they can do x,y & z cheaper than anyone else and then either fuck it up or come back and say they can't shoulder the financial risk without more government cash.
